My Story

Hey! My name is Alexis Honoria (and Mykhal to my students). I'm based wherever the Wi-Fi is strong and desserts are nearby. I travel while working remotely as an EFL tutor, podcaster, and virtual assistant. My home changes, but my commitment to helping others learn and grow never does. My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice & Law Studies from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, and a TEFL/TESOL certification to teach English. Alongside my 15 years of experience at a law firm, I developed a skill for teaching through programs like HIPPY and Junior Achievement. Both programs focus on building safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environments for young people. In 2019, I was moved to combine my passions for traveling, learning, and reading into a podcast. Lit Society Podcast, a podcast about books, has allowed me to bring characters to life through voice narration. My travels since 2022 have taken me to bookstores and cooking classrooms in England, Panama, Paris, South Africa, Madeira, Wales, Malta, and Scotland. Oh, and despite my allergies, I love pets, so I’ve been pet-sitting and reading novels across the globe. The common question is, what languages am I fluent in? ENGLISH, but I’m always working on my Spanish. Let’s chat! Tell me about you and what moves you around the world.
